Windows
Single Hung
The Vertical Slider window is the oldest style of window still in use today. Vertical Sliding windows are also known as Single Hung windows. They have been used in some form or another for over 400 years. They lift up and slide down to close making them very easy to operate. Vertical Slider windows are like the Horizontal Sliders, versatile, and economical. Because they close downward, the seal is tighter than of a Horizontal Slider windows. They offer fewer mechanical parts found on Casement windows, and often have a lower purchase price. That lower price often means you can upgrade the window to a triple pane configuration or add a Low-E coating, or even Argon gas between the glass panes. Of course, by making these upgrades you will enjoy greater energy savings in your home.
